ARCHTOBER is a NYC-based platform that promotes the discovery of architecture and design through experiences and content, expressed significantly in a month-long festival every October. The focus is on all things architecture, celebrating the craft and the individuals behind the global built environment. Archtober works with partners like museums, cultural organizations, design firms, advocacy groups, parks, and more. Most events are FREE and open to the public to attend. See full listing below.

“Since 1969 TAP has championed architectural and community preservation. In recent years we’ve celebrated our success annually with a street party at our office. This year we join dozens of cities in the US to celebrate a whole month of ARCHTOBER : Troy Edition! We all love Troy’s architecture. This is our way of showing a little love to our architects, and the organizations we all work with to improve the health, sustainability, and beauty of our built environment.”

This year, TAP Inc has partnered with Collar Works for the ARCHTOBER : Troy Edition! for an ART BLOCK PARTY. Enjoy an evening celebrating experimental contemporary art and architecture in Collar Works’ future outdoor Art Yard space, a performance by architecture inspired 80's throwback band Architrave, FLOCKart exhibition by Eli Thorne, DJ vibes and late night dance set with groop.lab.
The Art Yard will be transformed by Troy based architectural firm ME Studio who has joined up with lighting designer Lightexture to create an sculptural anchor for the event site. Based loosely on an origami structure, this interactive piece will have a integrated screen upon which is reflected a randomized organic display that will be visible from around the site.
A pop up performance by The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company supporting their most recent performance series 'Putting Out the Welcome Mat' in which interlocking squares form a portable stage for the dancers to perform works from ESDC’s repertoire of 90+ dances, plus new ones specifically created for this series.
Food and beverage will be available including regional favorites Slidin Dirty food truck and a selection of regional alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
